Coconut from South Florida for Display or Arts and Craft Projects
YOU ARE BUYING ONE(1) Coconut for Display or Arts and Craft Projects
The coconut tree (Cocos nucifera) is a member of the palm tree family (Arecaceae) and the only living species of the genus Cocos. The term “coconut” (or the archaic “cocoanut”) can refer to the whole coconut palm, the seed, or the fruit, which botanically is a drupe, not a nut. The term is derived from the 16th-century Portuguese and Spanish word coco meaning “head” or “skull” after the three indentations on the coconut shell that resemble facial features. The coconuts are grown in South Florida without use of fertilizers or pesticides. The coconut has been off the tree for several weeks to a couple of months and will not germinate or be consumable. These are sold for Decoration, Display or Arts and Craft Projects ONLY! If you want a coconut to germinate or one that is already germinated or several feet tall see our other listings.
